I also thought that it may be cables going from inverter to the LCD screen? So I am not at no other options unless you can suggest other things to try. The plastic surround in that area was noticeably burnt and melted. It's just a black screen, and turning off and on every 20-30 seconds. click to read more
any help/tips will be greatly appreciated! I am reading your post and I am presently having the same problem with my Dell Latitude D620. I see the 'windows is loading' screen and it loads for about 5 seconds and then the screen goes black with my cursor in the middle. The computer has turned itself off & restarted itself in the past but i've always been able to get past this stage & have had it up & running.
