and also some say that sony tv recognizes only hard drive upto 500 gb and not 1 tb. if I partition my hard disk, then I can access my files to copy them elsewhere? The unrecognized drive was listed but didn't have anything in the "name spot," so I right clicked and went to "All Tasks" and proceeded to click on "Assign a Letter and I realised after more googling a deep scan overnight might get more data.
Only one I can click on is Properties or Help, properties said it is working properly, and help is very unhelpful. It shows up in the disk drive list, but not the disk mgmt. I went back to Disk Management. I tried numerous other procedures but to no avail.

In Disk Management it shows up a drive with Simple Layout, Basic Type, Status is Healthy (Primary Partition) with Capacity of 1.8TB.
