Any clues? Networking PC’s today in Windows 7 is so much easier, HomeGroups make it a cinch to share files and resources such as a printer. The 2.x versions support the recognition of many USB devices. Did you mark the printer as "Shared"? The XP machine does see the 98 machine..but not the printer share. You should probably look into using an IPP print server, and a used workhorse parallel printer.
