I'm not too savy on the internals or how/what to type on the "black" screen so be gentle. it just says bad command or files name when i type in windiags. The bootup disk is just used for clean operating system's. I would expect that you will see a file name. I know that doesn't matter but device=c:\windows\himem.sys does it matter if that is in config.sys.
