Windows Installer Cannot Be Found .msi (XP SP2)

God bless the internet! After weeks of trying to figure this problem out, I finally got it working. Doc. dmg56 says: 5 years ago Hi cminniect … I read your fix for the nasty Windows Installer error.. http://roguewb.com/windows-installer/windows-installer-3-0.html

This can be done manually by comparing the permissions on the folder to another installation of Windows with the correct permissions set on the folder in question. This was after doing registry fixes, running CHKDSK /r, etc. Thanks once again. Windows Installer can become unregistered and needs to be re-registered for installations to function.  The Windows Installer program must be re-registered for functionality: Hold down the Windows key + R to open https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/324516/-the-windows-installer-service-could-not-be-accessed-error-message-when-you-try-to-install-office

If this happens then an hacker can write such a program that can easily gets the access of system. I see here some new ideas - e.g. Belive me it worked well and I sreamed immediately to see it working.

  • I stopped it and strted it again. 2.
  • I'll at least let you know what didn't work if you have my problem, as well as, what did work (so far).
  • Report dyzan- Jun 19, 2010 at 11:04 AM worked for me, win xp service pack3....
  • How do I correct this?
  • Then went to Windows Installer previously changed to automatic from manual and also checked under logon tab "Allow service to interact with desktop".

I even disabled Avast thinking that it somehow might be the problem; nothing. I have 7 instances of it, not one! BTW, if any of you know how to get that System32\msiexec.exe, I would still like to try it. I had this problem, only my msiexec.exe was missing entirely from the System32 directory.

I've been really DESPERATE for this problem for a long long time.... However, if a previous installation was unsuccessful and did not close properly thus giving you the error when trying to re-install, you can end the Windows Installer Process manually: Open Task Manager Best Regards! https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/315346/error-windows-installer-service-could-not-be-accessed-occurs-when-you-try-to-add-or-remove-a-program-in-windows-xp-or-windows-server-2003 Report Deo Galvano- Jan 9, 2009 at 08:20 AM Hello GaryB, I was delighted to read your solution for the problem that the Windows Installer Services cannot be accessed.
