I can still use certain programs as long as they are already installed, but it's a real hassle not being able to install what I want / need, and having to Take a bow! What eventually got it working. Go to Start, type in run, and then click the run icon 4. Click Start, click Run, type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER, and then click OK. Or press the Windows key + R if you really want the run box.
