Windows Live Mail Could Not Be Started The Application Was Unable To Open

After checking replies, trying Windows Live Essential repair, defrag, registry cleaner/repair, etc., still frustrated! . . . . BTW...once you open one email, other emails will open normally as long as you don't close WLM and leave for 5-10 minutes. However, by reading EACH one and closing them before moving on to the next one, I seem to have eliminated that stupid error.Go figure! Bumping this thread. http://roguewb.com/windows-live/unable-to-send-email-from-windows-live-mail.html

If you don't it is most likely your antivirus software or another program causing a conflict with WLM. __________________ `Sunny My Blog Sunny View Public Profile Find all posts by Sunny Proposed as answer by Nerill Monday, February 14, 2011 1:44 PM Thursday, December 23, 2010 12:54 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I tried the repair before uninstalling. Advertisements do not imply our endorsement of that product or service. You can also try renaming the WLM message store file, it can become corrupt.

I have farted with Live Mail for over a month, and opening messages takes forever, and trying to bring up recipients when creating new message is impossible. Although I can open my emails I can not send any. I felt sure that removing 2012 and installing anew would do the trick. People bitched about Vista but at least MS Mail worked great.

Do we all have to abandon MS email and go to gmail/yahoo,etc...? I am able to reply and forward emails now. I can open incoming mail but get the error when I click "Email message", "Forward", or "Reply". None had, but I am wondering if my version of WLE 2011 should be updated??

Cheers. Windows Live Mail started giving me the message "A problem occurred while trying to open this message." any time I try to open a message (including old ones).
