I have Vista and WMP 11. Look for the column HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Audio Double click on “DisableProtectedAudioDG” appearing in the right window. This is on a network that has no internet access, so I can't just blindly sift through codecs and updates. I was about to give up, and then I installed another CODEC PACK and it worked! http://roguewb.com/windows-media/windows-media-player-11-crashing-in-vista.html

Uncheck "Windows Media Player", select Next button, allow uninstall to complete. 4. I Restored my system to a few weeks ago, but that didn't change anything. How's that for a 10 second fix to something people have been blogging about for a year? 😉 Reply ↓ Mark on July 29, 2008 at 4:59 pm said: NICE! So much for NetFlix tech support and 1000's of forums with all these convoluted steps. Thanks Sri! Obviously it's an IE issue.
