Windows Update Hangs When Installing IE 9 Cummulative Security Updates

You should post your solution to the Microsoft forum. My guess is that Intel wireless drivers need to be updated, but probably not available yet. These "Checking for updates..." hangs and slow Windows Updates started on my Vista SP2 machine in August 2015 - one month after Windows 10 was officially released on 29-Jul-2015. It was stuck at 5% for what seemed like 20 minutes or so, I was starting to get worried, then it finally moved. I have tried running SFC /scannow, but it finds no errors that it believes need to be corrected. talk about a time waster ...
