tools... hmm, a bit lost on how to follow that to be honest. Most of the crcdisk.sys errors I searched is caused by driver conflict but is not caused by crcdisk.sys itself. I reboot, try safe mode, freezes at crcdisk.sys.

It's highly unlikely your primary install of Vista, AND booting from the Vista DVD, AND booting from the recovery partition's 'Vista' to run chkdsk, ALL have the same issue running chkdsk.

I had just built the computer a couple of weeks ago, and it just started doing the same exact things listed here. It just takes forever to transition from BIOS to OS. Though this is a rare case, this error is caused when there is a power outage especially after few seconds of switching on the system. repair option just refreshes the screen, start windows normally and it does the green task bar lock thing however...i have managed to get a screen up which shows....
