Sorry, there was a problem flagging this post. Also I have an issue with my graphic card - fan on it, sometimes doesn't work unless I flick it with my fingers. I hope this helps us at least gain some continuous access to the system and posssibly even lead to a resolution. These hangs happen usually when I do full shut down, it happened on a computer restart, only once - after using Norton Removal Tool, that's when it happened for the first I did the full 'format' of my system 2 months ago, and I didn't installed many programs, so I think my computer is relativelly clean.
The problem is it didn't want to shut down, it stopped on message on the screen - "Shutting Down". Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended. whs solution worked for me also.
Put the CD in the drive and reboot. You need to see if its overheating, you can do that in the BIOS, hit delete or esc or something else right as it boots, and it'll tell you how hot It has all latest updates, I perform the maintenance, etc.. PS.
