For Serial ATA drives (SATA), you don't need to worry about jumpers at all. I'm sure i must be overlooking something really simple, but what?!?!?!? Everything runs out of the box. By the sixth you are talking about ‘SATA ports' and ‘SATA drives. Every one knows what they are capable of!!! I didnt know many of the terms either but took a few minutes to learn what they were and then followed the clear steps to install, config and run the two

Be grateful you get even that; some companies have already figured out that they're not actually obliged to even have a support department. I get better deals from AlienWare than from Apple.
the driver is located at IDE/WINXP/SATA_IDE on the file. Incidentally, xrandr is frickin' voodoo. My BIOS locates the SATA drive just fine, and if I try to run it as the primary, it's fine, but as a slave, the PC won't locate it. So, I would re-check the SATA cables and moving it to other SATA connections and still no second Hard Drive. check over here However, it does still boot up and run windows.

So, I built my own Windows machine instead. From this point I have once had Windows work sucessfully but when powered down completely the machine reverted to not seeing the hard drive in bios and only the two dvd Which really sucks, because for everything except gaming, I'd rather be on Linux; Windows doesn't offer any other advantages IMO. Not very good at these things Can I install windows to my Sata-drive from this XP I have here?
